Brussels Boring ?!

During the holidays everyone travels around the world. And yeah, it's a lot of fun! But isn't there a cheaper version ? Of course YES! Why can't you just be a tourist in your own city ?! The only thing you need to do is speak English and have such a chill walk, that everyone will believe you have a worriless life. And yeah, it feels kinda good, haha :)

So last week I had one of these trips around Brussels. And today I'm gonna tell you which places you should visit when you'll be in the Capital of Europe ! :)

BRUSSELS, HERE I COME !

#1 Maison Antoine, Place Jourdan, Etterbeek - French Fries are NOT American, NOR French. The first french fry has been baked and eaten in Belgium! There are many places where you can eat them, but if you want to eat crusty, fresh and Belgian fries, visit this place ! The queues are always long, you'll probably wait about 30 minutes. But trust me, it's worth the wait ! & Btw. it's not expensive :)

#2 Place Jourdan in general. It's a plain square with the Maison Antoine and a parking. What I like about this place is that there's a nice atmosphere, but there are not as many tourists as in the centre. Most of the people are citizens, so you simply enjoy daily Brussels :) Around the square are many  different restaurants. You have the more expensive ones, the sweet bakeries, the organic restaurant, the pubs, etc. Starting in the morning and eating every meal in a different restaurant is also an option :)

#3 La Cure Gourmande, Brussels Centre - Rue au Beurre : The Grand Place is a place everyone visits when in Brussels. When you leave the square and walk through the Rue au Beurre, you'll see many shops with pralines, meringues, etc. The shop I ADORE is La Cure Gourmande! When you enter the shop, you'll go nuts because of all the cookies, lollipops, nougats, ... ! I mean, there's literally no place on the shelves and furthermore everything is delicious ! Sometimes a lovely lady offers you a cookie :) #BestMoment

#4 De Spoorweg Wandelpad, Oudergem - When people visit a city, they have a very busy schedule and try to visit the most important monuments. If one day you won't be one of those people, go for a walk through the Spoorweg Wandelpad. It's a path through South-Eastern Brussels, but it feels like you're in a forest. It's a very quiet place, where you can let your soul breathe and calm down :)

#5 The Balls of Brussels or the Atomium - I live my whole life in Brussels and today was the first time I visited them. And if you want a very very short summary, well it gave me a weird feeling. I have no fear of heights, but when I was at the top I started to sweat and panic! Urgh. Horrible! In May I was in the Berliner Fernsehturm and everything was fine. But today it wasn't fine at all. My Mom and I had a feeling the balls were moving and the gravitation was so so weird. Maybe there was something wrong with the floor ? I don't know. But in the end, I was happy I did it, but you have to be prepared. And I wasn't.

#6 Parc Cinquatenaire, Etterbeek - The park I love the most! It's a park, where different cultures, languages and ages love to spend their time. It's also a very clean place with some monuments, museums and fountains! & It's close to the European buildings :)

#7 Jardin du Mont des Arts - One of the most romantic places in Brussels is this one. Especially at sunset. Listening to the music played on a saxophone and looking at this while sitting on the stairs, YES PLEASE!

#8 Museum of Natural Sciences - If you love science and even if you don't, visit the Museum of Natural Sciences. I visited it like 15 times in my life. I love it ! When I was a kid I was so scared of the dinosaurs, haha ! There are so many fossils and different exhibitions. The one I love the most is the one with the huge spiders ! I'm so scared of them that I only enjoy seeing them in terrariums. I'm such a bad kid :)

#9 Wittamer, Place Sablon - If you're in the mood to eat a very chic breakfast or have an upper class coffee break, go to Wittamer at Place Sablon. Their ... Everything is DELICIOUS ! Their pastries are so delicate and tasty ! When I'm there, I swear I believe I'm already in heaven, haha :)

#10 Boston Steak House, Porte de Namur - If you want to eat something from the 'fast food' category, but want to stay away from McDonalds, go to the Boston Steak House. The hamburgers there look so good ! I haven't eaten them yet, 'cause when I'm there it's always very late. Once I ate their spaghetti and it was very good ! There are also a lot of different drinks. The place is quite mysterious and modern. I think you'll enjoy it :)

(#11 The Neuhaus Pralines ! These are my favourites ! :))

If you're coming to Brussels, have a nice trip ! Any questions ? Ask me in the comments below ! & Like I always say, ENJOY #BELGING! What means, drinking beer and eating Belgian fries :)

Shop Till You Drop

Hi Guys !

Today I'm quite moody. And if you ask me why, my answer will probably be : 'I don't know'. It's just one of those days.

My day was actually quite good. I watched a movie with my mom called 'Julie & Julia'. It was about cooking and blogging. Very motivating to be honest. But the weather is horrible. I hoped it would only rain today, so I checked it on my iPod. And this is what I saw :

The weather until Sunday. O to the M to the G. Now you probably understand why I feel like this.

So I'll probably stay at home, until the sun comes back and write a lot of new Blog Posts.

Let's switch moods, 'cause I hate to feel like this.

HELLO AGAIN !

So 2 weeks ago was MY graduation ! I still can't believe it. I AM SO HAPPY ! It was such an important day to me, that I decided to buy a new dress and new shoes. My dress-hunting-project took me 3 days. While searching I had also the job to keep my dress-stress-o-meter under control, what wasn't easy. So I bought many other things, haha :)

Here they are !

♡ A PHOTO ALBUM & A NEW NOTEBOOK

On the first picture you see on the left the album and on the right, like it's written on the cover, the Notebook :) The reason why I bought an album, is because I graduated and I want to make an album about my school career. I separated it in two parts. The first one is for all my class photos and the 2nd part will be My Burn Book. No, just kidding :) It'll be something like a Yearbook ? We don't do that in Belgium, so I decided to make my own one. I'll put a picture of every pupil, who was in my class and I'll write their name under the picture. So when I'll be older and Facebook won't exist anymore, I'll have a physical version of it, haha !
Don't ask me why I have bought a new notebook, 'cause I really have like 5 of 'em. It simply looked good, cost 4 euros and like you can see on the other pictures it has a lot of quotes on the inside! AND I LOVE QUOTES ! And I also write a lot. Don't worry, I'll fill these pages quickly :)

♡ ALBUMS & BOOKS

I also bought 2 albums. 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER'S! Because I LOVE THEM. And I'll stop here, before I'll start to fangirl :) And I'll also bought Michael Jackson's album Xscape, because he's a legend and I also like his music. The reason why I like his music is because you don't have to be in the mood to listen to it. And no matter what music you listen to, you'll love it. Maybe YOU listen to rap and I listen to rock, but we can sit together and listen to Michael Jackson's music. I call it peace-music.
The two books in the picture - well, I didn't really buy them. 'The Fault in Our Stars' by John Green is a gift from my mom's friend that I received for my graduation. But I didn't start reading it, because I promised myself in September that I'll read 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' AGAIN and highlight all my favourite quotes. But that didn't happen yet, so I'll do that first :)

♡ A WALLET

On the left you see my old wallet I received for my 16th Birthday. And I still love it ! The problem is, that when I take a small bag with me the colourful wallet is way too big. So I bought a new one ! First of all it is SMALL. And I also like the fact that it's not chique, but more punk rock.

♡ EARRINGS

You never have too many of these, right ? I bought the birds because they remind me of Harry Styles' tattoo and sometimes I wear the female version of Harry's outfits. So now I'll also have matching earrings :) And I bought the Hearts, because they make you look cute, even if you have a plain outfit, a bad hair day, no make up, etc. It doesn't matter. You'll look cute, haha :)

Do you also buy things even if they're not on your list ? What do you buy ? Make up ? Clothes ? Accessories ? Tell me in the comments below !

Pretty Pretty Nails

I don't know how you feel when your nails look pretty, but I immediately feel better about myself, even though it's not the first thing you see when I'm walking down the street. But you do see that I feel confident. Conclusion : Nails are important :)

When you begin with Nail Art, you'll see that it isn't so simple. You need many colours, special tools etc. I also don't really like long nails or fake nails, I like to keep it nice and easy :) Here are some pictures with Nail Art ideas that I would like to try out this summer !

For this one you only need two colours, yellow and white. For the small flowers, you'll need a pointy object, that won't be sharp.
Now I see that it hasn't been done very precisely, but at first sight it looks cute and fresh.

I don't know about you, but I love everything with glitters ! For this one you'll need three colours, you'll probably will have to buy 'em, 'cause these aren't basic nail polishes. However it's simple, easy and perfect for summer !

I hope the pictures aren't too small. As you can see, it is a very simple Nail Art. You only need two colours and the black one can always be replaced by some other colour.

This isn't really Nail Art, but when I saw the nail polish I thought it was so cool ! So many colours and no effort. Puuur-fect, haha :)

This one is a little bit more difficult, but somehow I love the triangles and colours ! It looks so awesome ! Wait, how many colours do you need ? 4.. 5.. 6 COLOURS ! Oh gosh, that's a lot ! Whoops, not really for beginners .. But maybe you'll like it as much as I do and you'll give it a try !

Remember to put a top coat when you're done with the Nail Art, so you can enjoy your beautiful nails longer ! Put it on your nails 2-3 minutes after you're done with the last nail and start with the one you've done first. Good luck, Ladies !

I hope you like it :) Feel colourful, joyful and pretty !

How to survive High School ?

Hi Guys!

GUESS WHAT! I graduated last week! I’m so happy that it’s over, I will finally have some time for me, myself & I! The weather sucks, but let’s hope that it’ll be better in July, which starts in 11 hours, haha!

In High School I had good grades, but it was a tough time for me too. It's important to realise that everyone has their own worries and there's no point in judging someone. Besides, we all go through  puberty and school doesn’t give us any pause.

10 TIPS FROM ME TO YOU

1. Sport
I chose jogging. This is what helped me the most. I admit, the first times are so hard. You’re dying after 5 minutes and you’re sweaty and urgh... why the hell did I even bother to leave the house?! But trust me, after like 3-4 times you will feel much better, so relaxed and PROUD! I felt really really proud ! While I run, I feel all my troubles escaping and I am less grumpy.

2. Quotes
Another thing that motivated me were quotes. I looked up for really good quotes that gave me the energy to fight against my weaknesses. I stuck my Quote of the Month next to my desk. I re-drew my Quote of the Year instead of printing it out and I also decorated it with some personal doodles. By sticking it on the cover of my school diary, I could see it every day.

3. Nice alarm clock

If you want your mornings to get a tiny little bit better, set a nice alarm. Don't choose your favourite song, because you will hate it sooner than you think. What I did was give them new names. I called the 1st one 'Smile ‘cause you can' and the 2nd one 'Have a wonderful day'.

4. Hobby
School steals a lot of our lazy days. I don’t know in which year you are, but my last year was really tough. When you’re trying to have good grades at school, but you also want to do the things you love, you’ll notice that you don’t have enough time. The funny part is, that teachers keep on telling us to remember that our hobbies are important too. So don’t forget these words! Draw, do some sport, go out with friends! IT'S A BASIC HUMAN RIGHT

5. Sleep
If it comes to my sleeping schedule, I have to admit that I’m quite a difficult kid. I was never in the mood to go to bed early during the week. The reason why was because after school I did my homework and once it was done, it was time for my night routine & Sweet Dreams. What literally sucked, because a life with copy/paste-days started bothering me. And yes, every morning I was tired like hell. So here's the better recipe: go to bed at 10PM and get up at 7AM & you'll feel much better!

6. Problems
I don’t know how about you, but I think everyone has something that makes them feel less confident. We don’t always find an answer why it is like that. My problem at school was that I didn’t like to raise my hand in class or to read out loud. It made me really nervous and I kept on thinking about it. What made it even worse, ‘cause I became really unconfident. I don’t know what’s the best way to resolve it. When I talked about it, it seemed to become a part of me and I absolutely didn’t want that to be me. So I stopped talking about it and looked on the internet if someone had the same problem. There were tons of young people who felt the same way. This made me feel better, ‘cause I knew I wasn’t a weirdo. And through the years I changed a lot. I finally understood that it wasn’t written on my forehead, only in my thoughts. So be confident Buddies, you’ll feel much better :)

7. Eat healthy
“Yes, Mom! I will eat the orange you prepared for me! Mom.. I’m busy, I can’t eat it right now! I have to stay focused! Yes, Mom.. Please, can I just finish?” Uh-huh. Eating healthy is difficult. It’s not like there's no healthy food at home, but somehow my hand always went to the bowl where the chocolates were. I'll try to work on this. I eat healthy meals, but the snacks I eat between the meals aren’t so good. Somehow, when I have exams I try to eat crispy things, that don’t content a lot of fat and calories (e.g. Rice waffles, almonds, dried cranberries). But let's be honest, our body sometimes needs a whole bar of chocolate.

8. Call a friend
It is a great feeling to have good friends. Somehow I didn’t find the people who I could call at 3 in the morning. The people I considered as friends were people who wanted me all for themselves, or people who replaced me for a new boyfriend, or simply left without a word. That hurts and leaves serious scars and causes serious trust issues. But before all of it happened I loved to be with them, going shopping, going to the movies, taking the train and enjoying a day at the sea-side. These kind of moments help you forget about small problems and make big problems seem smaller.

9. Spread your work
Homework. Urgh... Not a friendly-looking word. I always had a lot to do and it wasn’t a smart idea to start the evening before. So what I did was prepare it during the weekend. Not that I started Satuday at 7 am. On Saturday I almost never did my homework. Only if I had exams, but that’s quite normal. I did it on Sunday. When I was younger it was different, but last year I needed a lot of time if I wanted to avoid stress during the week. Spread your work and you'll feel less pressure!

10. Work on yourself
During these years at High School we change a lot. We’re in the most difficult period of our life. Let’s be honest, our body goes loco. If it comes to me, I’m not a speaker, I’m a listener. I don’t ask, I search for answers. In movies, in music, in books. No, I don’t really trust movies, ‘cause they always exaggerate. I do trust books! And music is my inspiration. Last night, I read a nice quote in “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” about it. The point was that you shouldn’t try to be a copy of a famous person. You should be a mixture of all the things you saw, heard, breathed, sang, danced and all the things that YOU bumped into on your path. Famous people have their lives and you have yours, so be yourself, because you’re unique!

Love,
